The event

Much of Ohio is experiencing historic drought. In fact, since the U.S. Drought Monitor was developed in 2000, this is the first time parts of Ohio have been classified as extreme drought, the highest designation. These conditions raise many questions for beef producers, especially about feeding options going into winter.

The Tuscarawas County office of Ohio State University Extension is sponsoring a Drought 2024: Winter Feeding Options for Beef Cows program on October 17 at Sugarcreek Stockyards, 102 Buckeye St., Sugarcreek. The program is scheduled from 6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Garth Ruff, OSU Extension Beef Field Specialist, will discuss feeding options with limited forage supplies, comparison of supplementation options, and beef herd management.

All beef producers are encouraged to attend to learn about feeding options and herd management. No pre-registration is required.
