Fort Laurens Celebrating 50 Years of Revolution on the Tuscarawas Event
The event
The site of Ohio’s only Revolutionary War-era fort, Fort Laurens, is hosting its 50th annual Revolutionary War reenactment, Revolution on the Tuscarawas, on Saturday, May 31, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, June 1, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Revolution on the Tuscarawas is the area’s largest Revolutionary War reenactment, where visitors can watch a mock skirmish for American Independence with volunteer reenactors from the Brigade of the American Revolution.
Visitors can further learn about 18th-century American life from a variety of different demonstrations, including cooking, medicine and discussions with Colonial and British soldiers.
Food, vendors, musical entertainment, kids’ games and many other family-friendly activities will also be available.
Admission is $10 for adults and free for children 12 and under, with all the proceeds going towards the preservation and educational efforts of Fort Laurens. All event activities and access to the Fort Laurens Museum is included in the ticket price.
