Fort Laurens Free Speaker Series Continues July 6
The event
Speaker Alan Fitzpatrick returns to Fort Laurens Museum for the next Free Speaker Series event scheduled for Saturday, July 6 at 11 a.m. in the Fort Laurens theater. Fitzpatrick will lead a discussion about his most popular book, “Wilderness War in the Ohio Country,” and the untold story of the battle between the British and the Native Americans for control of the Ohio country during the American Revolution.
“We are excited to share this unique story with our community,“ says Dante Weisend, site manager of Fort Laurens. “Fitzpatrick’s expertise will provide participants with new insights about Native American life in 18th century Ohio.“
Fitzpatrick is a Canadian-born author, historian, artist and lecturer. He is an expert in Indigenous culture in the Ohio Country during the French and Indian Wars through the American Revolution. He has authored six historical non-fiction and fiction books on the 18th century Indian Wars from the Native American’s side of the story. Fitzpatrick is also well-known for his ultra-realistic style oil portraits featuring subjects that he has covered in his books.
