Fort Laurens Opens for 2025 Season on May 3

Fort Laurens Museum opens for the 2025 season on Saturday, May 3, and kicks off its 2025 Free Speaker Series featuring author Alan Fitzpatrick.
Fitzpatrick will lead a discussion titled “Material Culture of Indigenous People,” which will present information on the material cultures of Native Americans pre- and post-European contact. Fitzpatrick is an author, historian, artist and lecturer as well as an expert in Indigenous culture in the Ohio Country during the French and Indian Wars through the American Revolution. The Speaker Series is free and begins at 11 a.m. at the Fort Laurens Theater.
Before opening day festivities, Fort Laurens is hosting a small group of World War I reenactors dressed in period uniforms on Saturday, April 5, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Guests will get to interact with the reenactors and learn more about the American army during this major world conflict.
Museum hours in May are Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sundays from noon to 4 p.m. June through August, expanded hours are 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesdays through Saturdays, and Sundays from noon to 4 p.m.
