Homeschool Day at Dennison Depot

The event

The first annual Homeschool Day event is almost here, come learn about WWII and railroad history by visiting different stations throughout the National Historic Landmark Museum! The Dennison Depot invites everyone who wants to take part in a day full of learning to come tour the Museum on Friday, May 10th from 10am-2pm. Tickets are available to purchase now at dennisondepot.eventbrite.com and advanced reservations are encouraged.  Kids can participate in the Bing Scavenger Hunt throughout the Museum and stop at multiple fun interactive stations along the way. Education stations will explore local history that had a national impact on WWII, the Salvation Army Canteen, railroad operations and equipment!

Make a day of it! Lucille’s Lunch Stand which is located inside the Dennison Depot will be open from 10am-2pm during the event for any lunchtime needs. Grab some lunch or even a snack or ice cream! The Whistle Stop Railway Gift Shop is full of the perfect souvenirs to take with you. Including a wide variety of children’s books to continue learning about trains at home, recipe books for fun cooking lessons, and even various toys to choose from as well! Make sure to save time to explore our campus to view the rolling stock train cars outside including a flatbed car, Nickel Plate Caboose, Bottle Engine, 2700 Steam Engine, and our Victory Garden.
