Kent State Tuscarawas Flash Dash Welcomes Runners, Walkers and Dogs

Are you ready to strut your mutt for the 5K for K9s and you?

Kent State University at Tuscarawas Alumni Association and Geib Funeral Home and Crematory are partnering for the Flash Dash 5K-9 run & .5-mile fun run/walk at the Tuscarawas Campus located at 330 University Dr. NE, New Philadelphia on Sat., Sept. 6. Participants can compete in a self-timed run, walk individually or bring your well-behaved dog to join you in the contest. Registration begins at 9 a.m. and race kicks off at 10 a.m.

Two division options for the 5K run/walk include a runner-only division and a runner plus dog division. The .5-mile fun run/walk is open for all, including your K9. All dogs must be leashed, vaccinated and tagged.

Registration details:
· Pre-5K registration fee is $15 and $10 for students and alumni members
· Day of 5K race entry fee is $20
· Preregistration deadline is September 2
· .5-mile fun run/walk registration is $15
· All pre-registered participants will receive a free T-shirt

Eventgoers and pets do not have to compete to participate.

The dog-friendly event also includes a Doggie Fest for the whole family featuring snacks, Furry Paw Art, K9 Judging Contest, Puppy Photo Booth and other tail-wagging activities followed by event awards. Proceeds support Kent State Tuscarawas Vet Tech scholarships.
