Luminaries in the Park – Dover
The event
A Dover family is going to do the 3rd annual Luminaries in the Park and will have much appreciated help from the Dover Community Parks Foundation this year as the event continues to grow. Luminaries in the Park will offer a tranquil walk around the Dover City Park pond. There will be luminaries and lights around the pond area as well as soft seasonal music being played in the background. The event is free and open to the public. This year the event will be held on Saturday December 16th and Sunday December 17th from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM on both evenings. Since the event is weather dependent there will be signs along North Wooster Avenue near the park entrance announcing the event if it is being held that evening.
If able, participants can bring canned food items that will be collected at the event and given to a local food pantry. Hot cocoa and information on a snowman themed search game for children 10 and under will be available at the hot cocoa table near the pond.
“Our Dover Community Parks Foundation is committed to giving back to our community”, shares Board President Doug Peterman. “It is important that we look at the natural beauty of our park, enjoy it and continue to improve upon it as a natural resource.”” Luminaries in the Park is a perfect example of this! “
