New Philadelphia students selected for 2027 OMEA All-State performing ensembles

Three New Philadelphia High School students have been selected to be a part of the 2027 OMEA (Ohio Music Education Association) All-State performing ensembles.  Olivia Alexander and Haiden Deramo were selected for All-State Choir, and Eric Calel-Ixcoy was selected for All-State Band. Selection for All-State ensembles in Ohio is extremely competitive.  High school applicants submit a registration form and a recording of required music excerpts as well as performance of a Class A solo from the OMEA Solo list for consideration.  Recordings are assessed by a committee of music educators selected by the All-State Committee chairs.  2027 All-State members will be gathering in Columbus, Ohio January 27-29, 2027 for intensive rehearsals with guest conductors, and will perform for music educators from across the state at the 2027 OMEA Professional Conference at the Greater Columbus Convention Center.
