Fort Laurens Museum is partnering with PBS Western Reserve to co-host a screening of “The American Revolution” on Saturday, May 9, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Fort Laurens Museum.

“Fort Laurens offers a direct connection to the American Revolution right here in Ohio, and we’re excited to share that history with the community through this screening with PBS Western Reserve,” says Tracy Britton, site coordinator at Fort Laurens.

“The American Revolution” is the latest film by Ken Burns, Sarah Botstein, and David Schmidt, which thoroughly examines how America’s founding turned the world upside down.

The screening will be held in the Fort Laurens theater, followed by an in-depth tour of Ohio’s lone Revolutionary War fort, including an inside look at the current archaeology efforts.

“We are honored to partner with Fort Laurens to help share the story behind Ohio’s only Revolutionary War fort. Bringing this film to the fort creates a powerful opportunity to connect viewers with a local place that preserves and interprets an important chapter of our nation’s history,” says Stephanie Pacifico, marketing manager at PBS Western Reserve.

The screening is free and open to the public; however, registration is required. This event is recommended for those 16 years of age and older.
