Zoar Maifest German Festival Returns
The event
Historic Zoar Village brings back its Maifest German festival on Friday, May 9, from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Saturday, May 10, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Various food and drink options will be available, including roasted chicken, Cleveland Kraut sauerkraut and local craft beers will be provided
Local music artists will perform live German music throughout the event.
Guests can also browse a variety of antique and modern German-made vehicles at the annual All-Marques German Car Show on Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the lot across from the Zoar United Church of Christ. Car owners can register at the church the day of Maifest starting at 10 a.m., or can pre-register by calling 330-874-3011 or by emailing zoarinfo@zca.org. Registration for the car show is $10. Proceeds benefit preservation and educational activities at Historic Zoar Village.
The “Landscapes of Memory” Adam Lehr art exhibit will be available for visitors to view in the Bimeler Museum. The exhibit is the largest gathering of this Cleveland artist’s paintings in one place and offers a powerful reflection on the history of the Zoar community and the landscapes that shaped it.
Maifest is free to all visitors; however, during the event, guests can purchase guided tours of Zoar Village for a discounted price of $5 per adult and free for children 11 and under.
