Farmer Rescued After Silo Auger Entrapment
CARROLLTON (WJER) (Oct. 12, 2026) – A multi‑agency response rescued a farmer trapped in a silo auger system Sunday night at a Rose Township farm in Carroll County.
The Carrollton Fire Department says a sheriff’s deputy was among the first on scene and applied a tourniquet to help control severe bleeding.
Crews from several departments worked together to free the farmer and lower the patient to EMS.
A medical helicopter landed but could not fly due to changing conditions, prompting a ground transport toward an Akron trauma center.
State troopers provided an escort to help save critical time.
