Farmers market and library program to focus on Juneteenth

DOVER (WJER) (June 18, 2025) – Various organizations are partnering to observe the Juneteenth holiday commemorating the end of slavery in the United States.
Mark McKenzie with the Tuscarawas Valley Farmers Market says they’re again having a Juneteenth cooking demonstration with Rodney Sutton at 5 p.m. at today’s market at the county fairgrounds.
Then there’s a program at the Dover Public Library from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday – on the holiday – called ‘Juneteenth: Tin Town and Beyond,’ with members of the Dover First Baptist Church speaking about the history and culture of the African American community in Tuscarawas County.
People planning to attend should register by calling the library at 330-343-6123, or at doverlibrary.org.
