Fire destroys mobile home in New Philadelphia
NEW PHILADELPHIA (WJER) (Oct. 24, 2023) – Firefighters say a fire that gutted an unoccupied trailer on the city’s west side Monday is under investigation.
The fire was in the 300 block of 11th Street Northwest, in the Quaker Mobile Home Park behind Walmart.
A neighbor apparently reported it to authorities around 5:30 pm. There were no injuries.
Fire Captain Matthew Graham says firefighters arrived to heavy flames coming from the back of the home.
Firefighters stayed on scene for more than three and a half hours for overhaul.
Graham says fire investigators, city police, and the State Fire Marshal have been working to determine the cause.
He says the fire resulted in about $20,000 in damage to that mobile home as well as $10,000 in damage to a neighboring one.
