Firefighters rescue dogs stuck on Stillwater Creek

UHRICHSVILLE (WJER) (March 26, 2024) – The Uhrichsville and Arrowhead Fire Departments rescued a pair of dogs trapped on the Stillwater Creek Monday afternoon.
City Fire Captain Wes Dillon says multiple callers reported seeing the dogs stuck on an island, which turned out to be a log jam, around 5:30 p.m.
Uhrichsville responders determined it was too dangerous to swim or wade out to the dogs, so they asked Arrowhead Fire District to bring its inflatable boat.
The dogs were returned to shore and reunited with their owner, who said a 2-year-old accidentally let them out.
Dillon says the dogs weren’t hurt, just a little scared.
