From Dover Coach James Kline:

Dover 0 – Weir 2
Location: Weir High School (W.V.)
Kickoff: 6:00 PM

Goals:
47:35 – Weir
59:57 – Weir

Last night the Lady Tornadoes took on the Weir Red Riders. It was a chilly and windy night and unfortunately another disappointing loss. The team seemed like they moved past the loss on Tuesday with a good warm up, but when game time hit it seemed they had lost the energy they had. The first half ended as a 0-0 and was very uneventful for both sides with only a fews chances for each team.

The second half started off very similar and Weir put a goal in seven minutes into the second half. Once again, not getting a lead early and allowing teams to stick around came back to haunt us. Giving up a goal didn’t seem to do much for motivating us and we continued to struggle to put much together. Then, twelve minutes later Weir earned a free kick and put another goal in. This goal and some energy from some of the reserve players seemed to spark us a bit and we started to create some opportunities. Unfortunately, we were unable to earn a goal out of those. The loss takes our official record to 8-4 with five games left. We look to regroup next week and right the ship when we travel to take on Canton Central Catholic at 7:00 PM on Thursday.
