Gnadenhutten man with lifetime license suspension charged with 11th OVI

| October 12, 2026

NEW PHILADELPHIA – A Gnadenhutten man with a lifetime driver’s license suspension for past drunk driving convictions was charged with OVI again two weeks ago.

Arthur L. Everett Junior (TCSO)

State Highway Patrol Sergeant William Bower says 59-year-old Arthur L. Everett Junior has 10 previous OVI convictions.

On Monday, September 28th at 8 p.m., the State Highway Patrol alleges Everett was drinking and driving again, this time on East Main Street in Gnadenhutten, where he hit a mailbox and left the scene. Bower says witnesses helped Troopers identify Everett, and he was issued a citation at his home a short while later.

Everett has a pretrial hearing scheduled for October 21st in Southern District Court. Bower says he will likely be indicted by the grand jury on felony charges. Everett is now in the Tuscarawas County Jail.

Everett already has a lifetime driver’s license suspension which he received in 2008 after an OVI conviction. At the time, Everett was six years into a 25-year driver’s license suspension from a previous OVI conviction.

The State Highway Patrol encourages the public to call #677 or 911 to report impaired drivers and drug activity.
