Goshen Township man arrested after drug bust
NEW PHILADELPHIA (WJER) (March 15, 2022) – Police arrested a 48-year-old Goshen Township man after a drug bust at his Geottge Avenue NE home Friday.
Tuscarawas County Sheriff’s Detective Cole Morris says police arrested the resident, William Dean Burt, for a probation violation as they wait for lab test results on the suspected narcotics.
The sheriff’s office along with the LEAD drug task force executed a search warrant at the home as part of an ongoing investigation into illegal drug trafficking and drug possession.
Morris says officers seized a pistol, cash and large amount of suspected narcotics, most of it suspected to be crystal meth.
Morris expects felony charges against Burt once police receive the crime lab results. He says Burt remained in the Tuscarawas County Jail Monday afternoon.
