| April 20, 2026

NEW PHILADELPHIA (WJER) (April 20, 2026) – The Tuscarawas County Health Department is encouraging residents to register now for next month’s Household Hazardous Waste Collection.

Jennifer Demuth, spokeswoman for the Stark–Tuscarawas–Wayne Recycling District, said the event will be held Saturday, May 9, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Tuscarawas County Fairgrounds. More than 200 vehicles participated in last year’s collection.

Recycling district staff will collect items curbside. Participants must remain in their vehicles and will be required to show proof of residency.

Accepted items include oil-based paint, automotive fluids, cleaning products, pesticides, and other household hazardous materials. Latex paint, electronics, and tires will not be accepted.

The event is free of charge, but appointments are required. Residents can register online at TimeToRecycle.org.
