Health Department invites local artists to help complete $2 million renovation

DOVER (WJER) (Feb 10. 2026) – The Tuscarawas County Health Department is turning to local artists as it prepares to wrap up a $2 million renovation project, hoping community creativity will help complete the building’s transformation.
Artists have until February 27 to submit original framed or canvas pieces for the department’s art competition.
Spokesperson Jennifer Demuth says they are welcoming artwork in a wide range of styles and from creators of all ages, noting that there are “a lot of walls to fill.”
Contest winners will have their entries remain in the building permanently, accompanied by nameplates recognizing each artist. With renovations nearing completion, officials plan to host an open house later this spring.
