DOVER (WJER) (Nov. 1, 2024) – Two Bolivar residents are competing in the race to become the next state representative in the 51st Ohio House District on Tuesday’s ballot.

Democrat Joe Rinehart is a Marine veteran who used to run an internet service business that he started. Rinehart describes himself as an advocate for veterans’ and voters’ rights, conservation, and other issues.

Republican Jodi Salvo is the director of substance use prevention services at OhioGuidestone. Salvo says she’s a strong supporter of limited government. She also wants to direct a portion of state tax revenue from marijuana sales to help with suicide prevention causes.

The district covers all of Tuscarawas and part of southern Stark County.
