Indictment filed against man accused of taking child missing from Georgia
NEW PHILADELPHIA (WJER) (Aug. 9, 2024) – The Dover man jailed in connection with a missing child investigation is now facing formal charges.
34-year-old Antonio Agustin-Ailon was indicted Thursday on six felony counts including rape, gross sexual imposition, and interfering with custody. All six charges related to a 12-year-old reported missing out of Gainesville, Georgian on May 30th. He was apprehended the Thursday before last at the New Philadelphia Walmart with the child victim. Authorities say the two met online and that the defendant traveled to the victim’s hometown to pick her up and bring her to Ohio. He’s scheduled to be arraigned and enter a plea to the charges next Friday.
