Miss Clayland planning another attempt at statewide crown

| June 17, 2024

MANSFIELD (WJER) (June 17, 2024) – We haven’t seen the last of our representative in this year’s Miss Ohio pageant.

Reigning Miss Clayland Brittney Putman made the top 11 and won $1,750 in scholarship money but not the statewide crown, which went to the current Miss Shawnee. She told Miss Clayland Director Martha Campbell she enjoyed her time in Mansfield and hopes to return next summer.

“There’s actually a rule that you cannot win the same title two years in a row. So if she would end up going to Miss Ohio next year as winning another local, then the following year she could come back and try for Miss Clayland again.”

A couple of Brittney’s predecessors won pageants elsewhere in Ohio and joined her in the finals.

“Two of our former Miss Claylands – Caitlyn Seifert and Baily Joy Martin – both of them were also in the top 11, so it was very fun for us to have the opportunity to get to see all of them in that position on the final night.”

Brittney will remain Miss Clayland and continue representing the program at events until September 14th, when she will pass the crown to the next local winner.
