NEW PHILADELPHIA (WJER) (April 22, 2024) – Tuscarawas County Sheriff Orvis Campbell says a Canton driver is accused of leading authorities on a pursuit Sunday morning from Strasburg to the Midvale area that reached over 100 miles per hour at times.

The suspect in the Tuscarawas County Jail awaiting charges is 26-year-old Sean Wahl.

Campbell says Strasburg police initially tried to pull Wahl over for an expired registration and other violations around 9 a.m.

The pursuit went onto U.S. 250 and ended around the 5900 block of Wolf Run Road Southeast after stop sticks were deployed.

Wahl ran off on foot but was caught a short time later, thanks to Deputy Chris Edwards and K-9 Rocky.

Campbell says Wahl also had several outstanding warrants out of Stark County.
