Murder suspect’s case headed to grand jury

NEW PHILADELPHIA – A New Philadelphia murder suspect’s case has been bound over to the Tuscarawas County Grand Jury.

Paul W. Kinlaw, 26, of Fayetteville, N.C., is accused of shooting and killing 42-year-old Christopher Damron in the latter’s New Philadelphia home on Sept. 20. Police say the two men had a physical altercation that led to the fatal shooting.

Kinlaw faces initial charges of murder and felonious assault. The Grand Jury will review his case for a potential indictment after Kinlaw this week waived a preliminary hearing.

Magistrate Christine Weimer continued his bail at $500,000. Kinlaw remains in the Tuscarawas County Jail.
