National Night Out Comes to Tuscora Park
NEW PHILADELPHIA (WJER) (July 27, 2026) – A nationwide effort to strengthen ties between police and the communities they serve will be celebrated in New Philadelphia next week. National Night Out is set for Tuesday, August 4, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Tuscora Park.
The event, first held nationally in 1984, came to Tuscarawas County last year in Dover. This year’s celebration invites residents from across the county to meet local officers, connect with area agencies, and enjoy family-friendly activities.
New Philadelphia Police Chief Tessa Pohovey says the goal is to bring people together and give residents a chance to get to know the officers serving their community. Food trucks, face painting, and other activities will be available on the Tuscora Park hilltop.
