New Miss Clayland crowned
UHRICHSVILLE (WJER) (Sept. 16, 2024) – The new Miss Clayland is ready to represent the area around the state and on the stage at next summer’s Miss Ohio Contest.
Olivia Fosson, 23, of Kitts Hill won the crown out of the eight ladies in Saturday’s competition at Claymont High School. She says she looks forward to returning to Miss Ohio after getting to compete there last year as Miss Ohio River and almost winning the state title.
“I was first runner-up to our lovely Miss Ohio, so I’m really excited to get to do that again… Miss Clayland has always been one of my dream titles. I’ve looked up to the women who’ve held this title for so long, so to actually be in the sisterhood among them now is very surreal for me.”
As part of the judging, there was a private interview, on-stage questions, health and fitness, talent, evening wear, and a community service initiative.
“It’s called ‘Body Neutral: Celebrate, Connect, Create’ and it was inspired by my career-ending injury and my road to recovery from that and my eating disorder.”
Fosson attends the Ohio State University Moritz School of Law. She received a $3,000 scholarship for winning Saturday’s competition.
The first runner-up was Madalynn Anderson, 22, of Toronto, near Steubenville.
