New Phila biker group delivers Thanksgiving meals for families in need
NEW PHILADELPHIA (WJER) (Nov. 21, 2025) – A biker group out of New Philadelphia is again showing its gentler side in the spirit of Thanksgiving.
The Ohio Gorillas Motorcycle Club in New Philadelphia is out delivering full turkey or ham meals for the second year in a row today.
Club member, and New Philadelphia service director, Ron McAbier says they’re dropping off approximately 135 of the boxed meals, all made possible through donations and contributions over the past six weeks. Club members have been traveling in a caravan with the boxes piled into a trailer and the beds of their pickup trucks.
McAbier says the meals are going to participating schools in the area for families in need, as recommended by their guidance counselors.
He says his club delivered about 75 meals a year ago and he hopes to see this continue to grow in the future.
