New Philadelphia road work advancing, 2025 paving list released
NEW PHILADELPHIA (WJER) (April 22, 2025) – New Philadelphia has numerous projects in the streets around town in various stages of completion.
Service Director Ron McAbier was telling council that follow-up road work for the Franklin Square storm sewer project is winding down. Crews were restriping the pavement there last week.
He says the water line project at North Ave NE was wrapping up and the road will get paved either at the end of April or the first week of May.
And he says the renovation project for three of the quadrants at the downtown square is set to begin this July. Final designs are still being worked on.
The state announced last may it was awarding the city $2.9 million for the downtown quadrant project.
McAbier says the city is also planning about $1.7 million dollars in paving work this year, with nearly $1.2 million of that coming from the Ohio Department of Transportation.
