| April 13, 2026

SUGARCREEK (WJER) (April13, 2026)  — No one was injured during an apartment fire Sunday evening in Sugarcreek, according to Sugarcreek Fire and Rescue.

Crews were called to the Engadine Court Southwest apartment complex just before 6 p.m. following reports of a dryer fire. Although the initial flames were extinguished, firefighters later discovered an active fire burning inside the wall and ceiling spaces between two apartments.

Residents had already evacuated the building before crews arrived on scene.

Firefighters remained at the scene for more than two hours and were able to contain the fire to the original apartment, preventing it from spreading to neighboring units.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
