NEW PHILADELPHIA (WJER) (April 3, 2025) – There may be a lot of sleepy people out there today.

Sirens blared early this morning – mainly between 2:30 and 3:30 a.m. – when the National Weather Service issued tornado warnings for a storm with rotation that was spotted moving into the southern part of Tuscarawas County.

The Tuscarawas County Sheriff’s Office said there were no immediate reports of any significant damage, just some trees and branches along roads in different areas. They all remain open.

Forecasters say there’s still a flood watch in effect for Tuscarawas County through Sunday with rounds of heavy rainfall possible at times.
