Officials say Midvale house is a total loss after Tuesday fire

| March 25, 2025

MIDVALE – A Midvale home was destroyed in a housefire midday Tuesday.

Dennison Fire Chief Dave McConnell says no one was home at the time of the fire, which was reported around 10:25 a.m. in the 4500 block of Broadway Street. However, firefighters earlier Tuesday afternoon were still looking for a dog that they believe was inside.

McConnell says black smoke was visible from the Dennison fire station. Crews found heavy fire moving throughout the structure that started on the back of the building and traveled up the wall and into the attic.

McConnell says the roof and the attic collapsed, leaving the house a total loss.

McConnell says he has called on the Fire Marshall’s office to investigate the cause of the fire. Dennison was aided by Uhrichsville, New Philadelphia, and the Arrowhead Joint Fire District. They were still putting out hot spots around 1 p.m. Tuesday.
