Overnight fire guts Dover house
DOVER (WJER) (June 17, 2024) – Dover firefighters say so no people were injured but three cats died and a fourth was unaccounted fire as the result of a fire early this morning.
It happened in the 300 block of Monroe Street.
Fire Captain Mike Mossor says a passerby discovered the fire and woke up the two adults and child living there just in time around 1:50 a.m.
He says the house is a near-total loss with a damage estimate that likely exceeds $300,000. He says the cause of the fire is undetermined.
New Philadelphia, Strasburg, and Sugarcreek firefighters also responded along with a crew from Smith Ambulance.
