NEW PHILADELPHIA (WJER) (Sept. 4, 2024) – The New Philadelphia Man who allegedly confessed to intentionally striking and seriously injuring a man on a bike with his pickup truck is out of the Tuscarawas County Jail after posting bond.

23-year-old Quintin Sarver appeared in New Philadelphia Municipal Court Tuesday by video from jail on the felonious assault charge resulting from the Friday incident that sent 42-year-old Dustin Bowe of New Philadelphia to an Akron hospital in critical condition. No plea was entered.

Sarver’s bond at the hearing was set at $50,000, in part due to his low-risk assessment score.

The incident happened near the former Hometown 1 Mobile Home Sales location on East High Avenue, in Goshen Township.

Tuscarawas County Sheriff Orvis Campbell says the apparent attack was over a series of alleged threats and theft-related accusations.

Campbell says Bowe has undergone surgeries for brain trauma and bone fractures, leaving him initially unresponsive with little movement but stable vital signs.
