Police investigating homicide at New Phila home
NEW PHILADELPHIA (WJER) (April 11, 2022) – The New Philadelphia Police Department has launched a homicide investigation after finding a man dead while conducting a welfare check early this morning.
Detectives say it happened in the 76-year-old victim’s home in the 100-block of Fifth Street SW, although they’re not sharing his name and other details at this time.
Officers responded to the home just before 7 am after a neighbor reported hearing what he described as a loud bang in the man’s apartment.
