Police search for suspect who ran after high-speed pursuit

STRASBURG (WJER) (April 14, 2025) – Multiple law enforcement agencies were looking for the driver who ran off following a high-speed pursuit Friday night.
Strasburg police say it started in their village when an officer attempted to pull over the vehicle for not turning off its high-beam headlights for oncoming traffic.
The pursuit topped 100 miles per hour on 77 south before ending behind the Comfort Inn Suites in Dover, where the driver ran into the woods.
New Philadelphia police provided a drone and K9 unit and the Ohio State Patrol sent a plane. Dover police and the Tuscarawas County Sheriff’s Office also responded.
Strasburg police say a search of the vehicle uncovered several documents that gave them a name to identify the apparent suspect.
A report is being sent to the prosecutor’s office for potential charges.
