ZANESVILLE (WTUZ) (Oct. 28, 2024)  – There’s a contested race in the congressional district that covers the western portion of Tuscarawas County on November’s ballot.

Democrat Jerrad Christian is challenging Republican incumbent Rep. Troy Balderson in the 12th Congressional District.

Christian grew-up in Athens County before joining the military and says he would focus on water infrastructure, making sure the district has resilient farming, veteran services, and jobs.

Balderson has been representing the district since 2018 and wants to keep pushing for legislation addressing needs of constituents such as rural transportation, energy, telehealth, and clean water.
