Quaker Foundation honoring standouts for homecoming weekend

| September 26, 2025

NEW PHILADELPHIA (WJER) (Sept. 26, 2025)  – Homecoming weekend is here for the Quaker Foundation.

Board member Jan McInturf says former Welty English teacher Peggy Range is being presented with the Retired Educator Award at the start of the halftime show during tonight’s New Philadelphia football game.

The Merit Award is going to former teacher, principal, and assistant superintendent Karen Jenkins, who helped start the Quaker Foundation in 1993.

Phil and Sharon Tidrick are getting the Spirit Award during the ceremony.

The Quaker Foundation then has its pancake breakfast fundraiser from 8 -11am Saturday at the Tuscora Park pavilion. The cost is $5 at the door.
