| December 22, 2022

NEW PHILADELPHIA (WJER) (December 21, 2022) – The Quaker wrestling team flipped the script on Dover Wednesday, winning 63-14 after losing by a similarly lopsided score last year.

WJER’s Bill Hammerstrom interviewed Quaker Coach Cory Swinderman after the match.

The Quakers scored 24 points off Dover forfeits and racked up another 36 off six pins.

Edgar Mejia-Ramos (pictured) and Steven Jimenez-Pascual started the match with back-to-back pins for the Quakers.

After two forfeits, Dover was already down 24-0 before Tornado heavyweight Joey Tristano scored a 4-2 decision over Garrett Dillon-Rine (pictured) in a heated match.

Also winning by pin for New Philadelphia were: Camden Richardson, Bryce Hagey, Ethan Pierce, and Thad VanArsdalen (pictured). Crespo Reyes earned a 3-1 decision.

For Dover, Blake Lanzer (pictured) won by pin and Egidio DiFazio won by technical fall.
