Registration opens for 2023 Share-A-Christmas program
NEW PHILADELPHIA (WJER) (Sept. 7, 2023) – T4C is taking signups for the next installment of its holiday assistance program.
Share-A-Christmas applications for 2023 are available at area schools and libraries. Co-chair Karen Beinkampen says they’re due on October 14th and can be mailed to the T4C office at 1458 Fifth Street NW in New Philadelphia or placed in the drop box near the main entrance
“And there will be no applications after that. They won’t be taken after that. They need to be in the office by October 14th.”
Qualifying applicants will receive a holiday food basket, clothing voucher, and toys for children up to 12 years old in the household.
“And the toys are gonna be again this year packaged for the families. Since COVID, I mean it’s less exposure to everyone… It really does streamline it, and it works well.”
Jane Worton is helping Beinkampen oversee the program that assisted a record 975 families last Christmas.
“This included 1,500 individuals, and toys were provided to 2,300 children.”
Share-A-Christmas toy drives will be taking place around the community in the coming months including the one WJER hosts with the Indian Valley FFA each year. It’s on December 6th from 7 am to 6 pm in the station’s parking lot.
