Rider dies following weekend motorcycle crash in Fairfield Twp.
NEW PHILADELPHIA (WJER) (April 3, 2025) – The State Highway Patrol says the motorcycle rider who was seriously injured in a crash east of New Philadelphia has died.
The motorcycle operated by 66-year-old David Metzger of Louisville went off the left side of Tabor Ridge Road while rounding a curve Saturday at about 3:30 p.m.
His motorcycle overturned and he was taken to an Akron hospital.
State troopers say the Summit County Coroner’s Office has notified them that Metzger died Tuesday.
The cause of the crash has been under investigation.
