Scio man killed in morning crash on US 250 near Dennison

| June 1, 2022

NEW PHILADELPHIA (WJER) (June 1, 2022) – The Ohio State Highway Patrol says a Harrison County man died in the accident that had U.S. Route 250 east of Dennison closed for about four hours this morning.

Troopers say Derrick Easlick of Scio, no age given, was killed in the two-vehicle crash when his westbound Ford Ranger went left of center around a curve and collided with an oncoming Ford F-350 pickup truck hauling a trailer just after 5 a.m.

Easlick died at the scene.

The driver and a passenger in the F-350 suffered only minor injuries and didn’t require hospitalization.

Troopers say nobody involved was wearing a seatbelt.

The crash remains under investigation.
