Sportsmanship Banquet to kick off Dover-Phila Week festivities

| October 17, 2025

NEW PHILADELPHIA (WJER) (Oct. 17, 2025) – Rivalry Week gets started bright and early Saturday morning at Buckeye Career Center.

It’s the 63RD Annual Sportsmanship Banquet, where the New Philadelphia and Dover communities break bread together before ramping up the intensity for 122nd meeting between the schools’ football teams on the following Friday.

WJER’s own Michele Spring is president of the New Philadelphia Rotary Club, which hosts Saturday’s breakfast.

The breakfast is open to the public starting at 7:30 a.m. at Buckeye. WJER’s Bill Morgan is the MC.

The football game this year is at Dover’s Crater Stadium and will be on the air on WJER.
