State honors Arrowhead Fire District paramedics for heroism

GNADENHUTTEN (WTUZ) (June 11, 2025) – The Ohio Department of Public Safety and other state agencies are recognizing the Arrowhead Joint Fire District with a prestigious honor.
Arrowhead was presented with one of 10 EMS Star of Life Awards given out at an annual ceremony for National EMS Week, May 18-24.
The award is for first responders that have saved lives or performed noteworthy acts of service.
A video presentation explained how Arrowhead paramedics rescued motorcycle operator Tyler Crawford following a serious crash on U.S. 36 last September where he suffered multiple facial fractures and life-threatening bleeding.
Troopers at the time said he had been rear-ended and not wearing a helmet. Crawford was ultimately flown to a hospital for care.
