Taste of Tusc returns to benefit Ohio & Erie Canalway Coalition
NEW PHILADELPHIA (WJER) (March 21, 2024) – The Ohio and Erie Canalway Coalition is getting to host its Taste of Tusc fundraiser for the first time since before the start of the pandemic.
The event is from 6 – 8 p.m. this Friday at the Kent State Tuscarawas Performing Arts Center.
The event features a variety of alcoholic drinks, coffee, entrees, appetizers, and desserts from local vendors.
Development Manager Emily Gyulai says after sampling any of those, attendees will get to help select the People’s Choice Awards.
“At the end of the evening, you’ll be able to vote for your favorite in four different categories,” she said.
Gyulai says proceeds from Taste of Tusc assist the coalition with maintaining and developing the Towpath Trail, its surrounding heritage area, and connector trails.
“Fundraising events like these are really fantastic to raise funds for that mission, and it’s also a great chance to get to meet other people in the community who are also passionate about our work,” she said.
The event includes raffle prizes and a complimentary tasting glass for attendees.
Online pre-sale tickets were selling fast. The coalition has said adult tickets would be available at the door for $45. Tickets for kids ages 5-16 are $5.
