Teen’s battle with leukemia comes to an end
NEW PHILADELPHIA (WJER) (Nov. 26, 2024) – A New Philadelphia teen’s terminal cancer journey that captivated the community has come to an end.
Lila Kinkade, a freshman at New Philadelphia High School, has passed away after being diagnosed with leukemia this past spring. Her courageous battle inspired countless people throughout the area to wear orange and purple in her support along with #LilaStrong bracelets.
Calling hours will be from 4 to 7 p.m. this Friday at the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home in New Philadelphia. Celebration of life services are planned for Saturday at 11 a.m. at NewPointe Community Church in Dover.
Lila, the daughter of Ken and Camille Kinkade, was just 14 years old.
