Three people ejected from vehicle in head-on crash on U.S. 250
One person was killed and 3 people sustained serious injuries in a head-on collision on U.S. Route 250 in southern Stark County Thursday afternoon.
*UPDATE FROM OSHP* “The front right seat male passenger in the Toyota RAV4 (Gaspar Cedillo Lopez, 28, New Philadelphia) was pronounced deceased at Aultman hospital as a result from injuries sustained in the crash.”
A press release from the Stark County State Highway Patrol says a 2002 Toyota RAV4 traveling northwest on 250 west of state Route 93 in Sugarcreek Township around 3:43 p.m. went left of center and struck a 2024 GMC Sierra head on.
Three of the four RAV4 occupants were ejected from the vehicle. The fourth in the right-front passenger seat required extrication by the fire department. They were not wearing seatbelts. All four were transported by EMS to Mercy and Aultman hospitals.
The driver of the GMC Sierra, a 31-year-old man from Michigan, sustained minor injuries and was treated at Mercy Hospital.
Beach City Fire and EMS, Wilmot EMS, Strasburg EMS and Tracers Towing assisted at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
