Tickets on sale by donation for Tusky Valley benefit show

| November 29, 2023

NEW PHILADELPHIA (WJER) (Nov. 29, 2023) – Organizers of a benefit concert at Kent Tusc Performing Arts Center for those impacted by the Tusky Valley charter bus tragedy are hoping to fill every seat and raise as much money as possible.

Former Alive festival logistics and site manager Jim Kohl helped plan the Trojans’ Night of Hope event on December 14th. He says the host and keynote speaker is Canton-based Reach1 ministries founder Markus McFolling, who will also perform with his band that evening.

“We also have a Christian band by the name of Sanctus Real. Sanctus is well known in the Christian world and has traveled all over the United States to perform.”

Tickets for the three-hour benefit are available by donation through the PAC website, and all proceeds will go into a fund that Bolivar Community Church set up to help Tusky Valley band families with their expenses.

“The band will be there. They’re coming to be part of this. They’re not coming to participate; only to be there in the audience and to be able to take part in the event that we’re doing.”

Kohl says they’ll also have counselors and representatives from local prayer groups at the event to meet with attendees and connect them to resources.
