Tickets on sale for masquerade ball fundraiser

| January 27, 2025

NEW PHILADELPHIA (WJER) (Jan. 27, 2025) – A weekend fundraiser called ‘Unmasking the Stigma’ will benefit OhioGuidestone.

Vice-President of Regional Operations Pam Trimmer says this Saturday’s event at Rustic Ridge Wedding Barn will assist the organization’s mental health treatment program for youth.

“The proceeds from this, we want to launch a new program called Expressive Arts. We want to use that opportunity to address the kids who are struggling with depression and anxiety… [It will be] focused on kids who are at risk of suicide. We have alarming rates in Tuscarawas County. We have surveyed youth in the schools, and 10-percent – which is 150 kids – reported feeling sad and lonely almost every day and have thought about self-harm.”

Trimmers adds that OhioGuidestone provides many services.

“Working a lot with kids, kids in the schools, and families. Everyone is having struggles. We want to get rid of the stigma of seeking help.”

Tickets are limited and can purchased online at ohioguidestone.org. They’re pre-sale only and won’t be available at the door. Participants are asked to wear their own mask or purchase one at the event.
