Trailer fire south of Ragersville claims 12 pets; home a total loss
BALTIC (WJER) (Feb. 11, 2026) — A trailer fire south of Ragersville killed 11 cats and one dog early this morning, according to Baltic firefighters. No human injuries were reported.
The blaze broke out in the 9200 block of Haas Road SW. Fire officials say the homeowner discovered the fire when she returned from work around 7:30 a.m.
Crews arrived to find the trailer fully engulfed in flames. Despite efforts to control the fire, the home was completely destroyed.
The State Fire Marshal’s Office responded to investigate. For now, the cause of the fire is listed as undetermined.
