Troopers investigating fatal crash in Goshen Township
NEW PHILADELPHIA – A 26-year-old Louisville man is dead following a single vehicle crash on County Road 69 in Goshen Township Friday evening.
The State Highway Patrol reports Jacob Goard was driving a 2016 GMC Acadia southbound at approximately 7:47 p.m. when the vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway. The car struck a culvert before overturning multiple times.
Mr. Goard was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle, according to the State Highway Patrol.
The crash is under investigations. Officials say alcohol and drugs do appear to be factors.
The Tuscarawas County Sheriff’s Office, New Philadelphia Fire Department and EMS, Smith Ambulance, the County Coroner’s Office and Country Side Towing assisted the State Highway Patrol.
